Verification Policy

Version 1.1 · Last updated: October 14, 2026

Applies to: Owners and visitors who want to understand badges.

Limitations of liability apply only to the extent permitted by law.

1. A badge only covers what was checked

A verification badge relates solely to the specific element that was actually checked.

  • “Identity verified” does not mean the home has been fully checked.
  • “Registration verified” does not mean the home complies with all local regulations.
  • CostaCasas's internal checks remain private and are not shown as a badge or label on listings. A public indicator only appears for a specific checked element, such as the landlord's identity, and is never a legal guarantee.

2. Four types of information

On CostaCasas, we distinguish between:

  • information provided by the owner — for example amenities, workspace or child-friendliness;
  • information checked by CostaCasas — with the element and date stated;
  • legally verified — only by a designated legal reviewer and solely for the stated scope, never as a general guarantee;
  • not yet checked.

3. No absolute guarantees

CostaCasas never uses terms such as “100% reliable”, “always safe”, “guaranteed correct”, “guaranteed legal” or “guaranteed available”.

4. Retention

For every verification, the date, reviewer, decision and version are retained. This history is not overwritten.
